A calm stream flows through a cold winter landscape in the evening light, in the background we can see a red house with light coming from inside and reflected in the stream. The snow is painted in a white-greenish colour. The atmosphere in this painting is truly striking. The artist Albert Liedbeck was born in 1881 in Värmland, Sweden, and died in 1955 in Stockholm. Liedbeck was a Swedish painter and conservator. He was married to Esther Bachman. After studying art in Stockholm and a few years in Paris, he worked as a painter and conservator. He had solo exhibitions in Karlstad, Gothenburg and Linköping in 1942 and in Malmö in 1943. His art consists of portraits, still lifes and landscapes.
