Oscar Sivertzen was a Norwegian painter and graphic artist. He studied at Carl Wilhelmson's painting school in Stockholm in 1911. In 1920, he returned from Sweden to Norway, where he was for a time a student of Harriet Backer, but periodically also lived in Paris, where he studied with André Lhote.
Sivertzen worked in oil but also in pastel, watercolour and woodcuts. He did landscape painting, figure painting and portraits and liked to entice with an atmospheric depiction of light like in - Fjord Landscape, 1915 which is a beautiful prime example of the talent that Sivertzen had for depicting the Scandinavian light and nature.
Through his involvement in "De frie" he participated in a number of the artists' group's exhibitions, for example in Stockholm at many times and at the Baltic Exhibition in Malmö in 1914.
